The prosecution panel of the Impeachment case against Chief Justice Corona moved to summon Justices of the Supreme Court and testify against the Chief Justice of the Philippines. However, the defense lawyer and spokeperson Karen Jimeno stated that such move of the prosecution would violate the time-honored rule on confidentiality of the Court in the disposition of cases.

“The best proof is still the decision itself and that is why there are dissenting and concurring portions of any decision,” Jimeno said in a statement made from an interview.

On Friday, the prosecution team submitted to the Senate sitting as an impeachment court a list of witnesses who would be summoned to testify against Corona. Included in the list are Supreme Court Associate Justices Maria Lourdes Sereno and Presbitero Velasco.
